The climate emergency exacerbates inequalities and injustices, with people already facing exclusion being left more exposed and therefore hardest hit.
This briefing outlines priorities for inclusion across negotiating strands at COP30 and opportunities to strengthen action for women, children, persons with disabilities, and all marginalised populations to ensure no one is left behind.
CAN-UK’s priorities for inclusion at COP30 are:
- Adopt a robust Gender Action Plan,
- Establish a Disability Caucus with a pathway to become a UNFCCC constituency,
- Take forward the recommendations of the Expert Dialogue on Children and Climate Change,
- Ensure inclusion in the Global Goal on Adaptation and its implementation,
- Strengthen inclusion in Loss and Damage institutions and funding,
- Embed inclusion in Just Transition Work Programme principles and implementation.
